Pre-arranged Visa Required

129 destinations require a visa obtained at an embassy or consulate prior to arrival from passport holders of Iraq. This requirement may be waived off if Iraqi citizens meet certain alternate requirements such as holding other visas or resident permits.

Entry Refused

Disagreements between Iraq and 1 destination have imposed restrictions in traveling to Iraq.

  • Entry RefusedRequirement updated , remarks In 2022 the Government of Iraq adopted the "Law of Criminalizing the Normalization with the Zionist Entity" (No. 1 of 2022) which stipulates in Article 4 that "whoever travels to the Zionist entity, visits one of its embassies or institutions all over the world, or communicates with any of them, shall be punished with life or temporary imprisonment.".
    Only those who have obtained prior approval from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior and are travelling there solely for the purpose of religious pilgrimage are exempt from the punishment stipulated in Article 4.
