Visa On Arrival

Visa to travel in Syria can be obtained at airports and other borders crossings for Passport holders of 1 country.

Pre-arranged Visa Required

Prior to arrival at Syria, passport holders of 222 countries must obtain a visa at their corresponding consulate of Syria. Additional travel conditions (such as Visas to other countries) may waive this requirement.

Special Conditions

Special conditions are impossed to passport holders of 3 countries in order to travel to Syria. These special requirements are often more time-consuming and may not be granted to every traveler.

    Persons with passports bearing Israeli visas or entry/exit stamps are not allowed to enter.
    Visas are not currently available to United States residents.
    Visa not required for foreign citizens with proof of Syrian origin, such as an identification card or passport
    Dual-Citizen Males ages 17–42 need military service book
    If not forgiven by the military, dual-citizens may apply for a visit visa once a year through the embassy

Entry Refused

Disagreements between Syria and 3 countries have imposed restrictions in traveling to Syria.

  • Entry RefusedPart of the Arab League boycott of Israel.
    Defined as an enemy state under Israeli law.
  • Entry RefusedPassengers with "The Palestinian Authority" passport are not allowed to enter. Information: This does not apply when they have a pre-arranged approval from Syrian Immigration Headquarters.
  • Entry RefusedAs of 2011 and 2014, due to threats by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, South Korean government bans its citizens from visiting Syria.
