Passport holders of 2 countries can travel to New Zealand without prior visa, eVisa, or on-arrival visa.

Under the Immigration Act 2009, Australian citizens and permanent residents granted a Resident Visa on arrival are entitled to live, work and study in New Zealand indefinitely.
From 1 October 2019, permanent residents of Australia must obtain an Electronic Travel Authority prior to travelling to New Zealand. Australian citizens are exempt from this requirement.
Australian citizens and permanent residents who do not meet character requirements (as described in Sections 15 and 16 of the Immigration Act 2009) will not be granted a Resident Visa on arrival, and must apply for a visa prior to travel.
Passport holders for 66 countries can obtain an electronic visa / authorization prior to arrival to travel to New Zealand.

Prior to arrival at New Zealand, passport holders of 160 countries must obtain a visa at their corresponding consulate of New Zealand. Additional travel conditions (such as Visas to other countries) may waive this requirement.

Passengers are required to hold at least 1000 NZD or 400 NZD if accommodation has been prepaid. as proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay. Evidence of funds may be in the form of cash, traveler's cheques, bank drafts, letters of credit or the following credit cards: Diners Club, American Express, Bankcard, Mastercard and Visa. If Visa label contains "Funds Waived", evidence of sufficient funds is not required
